Family Walks in Wexford

Here are some great family activities that are not costly and are sure to keep the kids happy and give them a break from their toys while also allowing us mums and dads to work off a few pounds.!!

Carrigbyrne Hill, is a 5km trail through a forest of mainly coniferous trees. Family walking and cycling.
Courtown Woods, Originally an old oak woodland. The area is noted for its variety of wildlife including otters, swans and ducks.
J.F.K. Park , New Ross, 252 hectares with planned walks. Huge labyrinth for kids to play, play ground with picnic area and a cafe open during the summer. Also mini train and great bike paths! Dogs must be kept on a lead! My kids really love going here its a great day out, and plenty of shelter in case of rain (or snow!)
The Three Rocks Trail, Coillte Outdoors provide a 8km long trail across Fort Mountain and Shelmalier. There are shorter loops for families, picnic areas and great viewing points.
Tintern Abbey Trails, 3km of trail with 200 year old beech and oak trees in Saltmills, New Ross. Tranquil woodland and walking trail with cafe and toilet facilities. Admission Adult €2 and children €0.75. This is a shorter walk and will only require an hours visit.
Edenvale-Crossabeg-Castlebridge A lovely river walk with waterfall and ruins of an old house. Gives the children a sense of adventure. Steep steps in parts! A good place for salmon fishing too!
Dunanore Woods, Enniscorthy. Running along the River Slaney, these woods gets their name from Dun na Oir and legends of buried treasure!! Beautiful all year round and especially in Spring with the abundance of bluebells and 100 year old trees.
Curracloe Nature Trail, A delightful 800 metres nature trail through seashore and sand dunes. Wexford is famous for its beautiful beaches and this one is no exception!! Stunning!!
