Rainy Day Things to Do in Wexford
What do you do? Another lashing rainy day! Stuck for things to do on a rainy day in Wexford? The kids have made all the jigsaws, watched all the films, played all the board games and now everyone is getting cabin fever, you can feel the tension rising in the house time for action:
To hell with the budget!
- Head straight for the nearest Cinema, don't leave till you see all the suitable films on show!
- Go to the local Bowling Alley.
- Let them have run around fun at an indoor play centre.
- Go to an amusement arcade give everyone a bundle of change, join in the play with the worst game you can possibly find.
- Go out to lunch followed by a trip to a local book, games or toy shop - treats all round!
- Book the whole family into a destination hotel in a different part of Wexford!
Won't break the bank:
- Go to your local shopping mall and hang out browse and shop for clothes, books, shoes don't forget the gadget, sports, music and games shops!
- Drive to the next town and explore! Go somewhere you have never been before!
- Grab the towels, swim caps, googles and head for the nearest swimming pool! (Bring snacks & a drink for afterwards)
- Go to the nearest indoor museum and or attraction and enjoy it!

Go to an Art Gallery or the Art Centre in Wexford Town, have a look in the Greenacres Art Gallery and in the Art Upstairs Gallery.

Visit the local pet shop. Discuss with your children what their favourite pet is then go to the library or suffer the net to research how to look after the kids favourite pet. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of owning a pet. Do a trial run for a week with a cuddly toy and a box, pretending it is alive pet.

Have a cinema day at home, head to the local DVD or Video rental store and rent 3 or 4 DVD's. Make sure you have a stash of popcorn, fruit, pizza or other stuff that the kids like to eat and munch on. If your kids are under 8 make a a game of it - how? Try our home cinema game!

Organise a games tournament with their friends; Wii, Playstation, XBox; Snap, Chess, Ludo what the kids are into or teach them a new game! If their friends come over get everyone to bring some treats to share!

Take out those toys that need to be built and go for it.

Get the board games and jigsaw puzzles encourage everyone to join in!

Cover the kitchen table with newspaper and get the paint, brushes and paper out (use the bumpy side of an egg box for the paint pallette makes cleaning up easier!) Older children can get magazines or newspapers cut out sentences or words and glue them all together to make up a story.

Visit friends or family!

Supply them with lots of old sheets and pillows to make a Den. When it is built let them eat all their meals in it! Supply them with paper & pencils, jigsaws, toys... leave them to it.

Turn on the oven and bake; muffins, soda bread, cakes, pizza. Kids love to eat what they bake. Stock up the freezer after the bakefest - if there is anything left! For very small children get a bowl and put in any dried goods that are out of date, some flour, oats (use cheap ingridients), add water give them a small wooden spoon or let them use their hands.

Run the bath and put the kids in it! Add toys and keep the water topped up.

Go through their toys with them, DEJUNK their room or playroom (okay maybe thats not so fun!).
