mykidstime.ie is an information website aimed at parents and their children. Whether you are looking for clubs and classes, family-friendly places to stay or simply somewhere new to take the kids, mykidstime.ie will provide you with that information in one easy to use location.
Our Mission is “To be the best listings website for parents looking for information on activities and classes for their children in their local area”.
We also aim to provide interesting content to parents, focused on activities for children and help connect local parents with each other. 10% of our annual profits go to child-related charities and non-profit organisations that provide activities for children.
Sometimes we get asked why are we a company? There are a few answers to this question:
- We want to work for ourselves. As friends setting up a business together, people advised us it was better to be a company than a partnership, just in case we ever fell out!
- We want to be able to develop and grow the website so that it becomes even more useful for parents. We want to keep it free for parents to use, and free for a basic listing, so we will try to earn money to make this happen. We felt that a company would serve this purpose well.
- We would like the company to employ people in the future on a flexible, part-time basis. As parents we know how tough it is to juggle children and work!
- We feel that a company can have good ethics, strong values and make money at the same time!
- Finally, when the going gets tough we can't just walk away!
Our Values
- Quality in all we do, by that we mean that the information we provide is up to date, correct and that it is timely and useful to the users of the website.
- Good customer service. What do we mean by that, well, little things like always answering emails and phone calls promptly. We always try to satisfy our customers to the best of our ability.
- Creativity. We try to think of new ideas all the time, ideas for content, ideas for things to develop on the website, ideas for how best to serve our customers.
- Giving something back. We arrange events for the community. We give 10% of our profits to organisations that are involved with children.
The website was created by Jill Holtz and Michelle Davitt, both of whom are mothers of young children. Frustrated by the lack of a central information resource on children’s activities and services in the Galway area, Jill and Michelle decided to create this resource themselves, and launched mykidstime.ie in 2007.
